Participation

Participation

This is foremost a charity bike riding event benefiting The LLS FOUNDATION and the Witches Ride is proudly a family-friendly event that is free to spectators. Please plan accordingly for your costumes and decorations!  Age Policy:  You must be 18+ and a female to register to “Fly” with the Witches Ride.  Children are NOT allowed to join or participate in the official ride even if they are in a cart, stroller, wagon, or walking.  Families are invited to spectate all along our route.  No Electric Scooters, No Electric Bikes, No Golf Carts.

BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS RIDE YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: 

  • BE RESPECTFUL: Only “family-friendly” costumes will be permissible to participate in the event.

  • BE RESPONSIBLE: Safety is imperative to the success of the event. Please no alcohol during the bike ride. There will be plenty of time for libations after the bike ride. 

  • REPRESENT: Be a good representative of the Waynewood Witches Ride. 

  • REMEMBER: This is not a race! Do not attempt passing. Please stop to help distressed witches, let’s ensure everyone makes it safely to our destination.

Check In

Everyone must check in.  There will be two check-in tables.  All paid participants will be provided a wristband and glow stick necklace as their “entry ticket” to the event.  You must be over 21 years of age and wearing a wristband to be served a cocktail.

Timeline

4:45 PM: Check-in Opens

5:00 PM: Pre Flight Drinks and Snacks

6:00 PM: Gather for Awards & Prizes

6:05 PM: Words from Ria Freydberg, LLS Mid-Atlantic Executive Director

6:07 PM: Witches gather for a group photo

6:15 PM: Witches take Flight 

6:45 PM: Immediately following the Ride: Return to 1057 Dalebrook for continued celebrations

8:30 PM: Bubbles and Brews Closes 

9:00 PM: Event Ends

PACE TRUCKS

DRINKS

Thank you to Patterson Group for being our drink sponsor and bringing Bubbles & Brews to our event! We will have 7 selections on tap. The selection includes Lavender Lemonade (Vodka), Paloma (Tequila), Zardetto Prosecco, 4 Bears Pinot Noir, Gotham Wine Rose, Wither Hill Sauv Blanc, and Port City Optimal Wit.   Bubbles & Brews departs at 8:30 PM.  There will also be a small additional bar in the backyard serving wine and non-alcoholic drinks. 

New this year we will have PASSPORT AUTO leading the way and setting the pace, keeping us on route, and setting the tone with music and bubbles.  You must ride behind the Truck!

CANDY & CANDY ZONES

There are 4 designated Candy Zones on the map.  We encourage you to dismount from your bike and underhand toss candy in these designated zones.  If you choose to throw candy not in these zones and while riding your bike know this is at your own risk and any candy tossed must be picked up.

  • Food

    New this year lite bites are included in your ticket price!  Lite bites include mini subs, pinwheels, nuggets, cheese and veggie trays.  

  • Bikes

    There will be bike parking on the sidewalks and at the curb at the Herbert’s house.  Decorating your bike is encouraged.  Riding your bike is at your own risk.

  • New This Year Bathrooms

    We have brought in a bathroom trailer!! 

  • Donations

    Ticket sales are closed but we’d love donations!!  The QR code will be on the pace truck as well as the yard signs throughout the neighborhood.

  • Photography

    Any photos taken by the professional photographer and in the Photo Op can be used by the event organizers and sponsors for current and future events.  

  • Spectators

    Please encourage them to stay out of the street for everyone’s safety! 

  • NEW Candy Refill Station

    Several tables will be located in the 1200 Block of Priscilla Lane. Please dismount off your bike and grab a signature event bag pre-filled with candy.  There will be volunteers there to help hand you a bag.  Please be patient and careful as this is our first year doing the Candy Refill Station, so we are working through the kinks.  Please only take one bag.
